There in my hour
of deepest need,
a figure looms over me.
Unseen by others,
only my eyes able to see
the whole truth.
A ragged man in ragged clothes,
an elderly woman with a smile,
a young man who comforts,
a child who makes you smile.
Why can you not see them
as they truly are?
Can you not see beyond
the earthly guise?
Open your eyes,
they're all around you,
halos dimmed,
and wings hidden.
Walking amongst us
in plain sight,
not clothed in samite robes,
but in the plainest of clothes.
If only you would let yourself,
see the angel...
But anyway, the piece...so delicate like the people portrayed, sensitive and flowing, like the hearts of goodness...
You are awesome. Your writings are awesome, everything is awesome, and I happen to adore angels, so this is absolutely a fave for me.
