Literature Text
I slip from the castle,
my gilded cage, my prison,
at dusk, that magical time.
Alone I set my feet to the road,
letting the night breeze
lift my scarf, toy with my hair.
Out here I can be free,
I can be myself.
No one to impress,
no one to obey.
Just the freedom
of an open road,
one who's call I cannot heed.
Though it takes all my control
not to run down it as far as it goes.
Who would I meet?
What would I see?
How much could I discover?
The temptation rises higher,
even as the light of the silvery moon
illuminates the path before me,
leading to the unknown,
leading to freedom.
I dance on that road,
watching my shadow,
knowing full well
I cannot leave...
other than these illicit nightly romps.
But... maybe someday...

I'll meet her again...
Its Samhain. The line between the spirit
world and our own is a ray of moonlight.
Its the night when the reluctant soul sticks
to our plane, hovering - a withered rose
whose beauty is the figment of a dream;
a gleam gilding the surface of the lake.
For long hours of idyll would the Lake
poets revel in letting their spirit
soar free on the nightingales wings, and dream
of glimpsing their Muse clad in pure moonlight
but tonight magics afoot: clouds just rose
to blur the moon like fumes from incense sticks.

The White Spirit
Between here and there
I've always been near
The dancing of the wind
His heart I long to mend
I spread my wings and long to fly
A softly shining butterfly
My eyes gazing toward the sky
Feeling almost drawn on high
The strings that tied me to this place
No longer hold me to this space
I raise my eyes and look above
Floating on this peaceful love
The winds soft blowing kiss
As I feel myself sensing bliss
A white light shines the way
Lit by spirits bright as day
I'm drawn to meet their gaze
Freed from my earthly haze
I feel the gentle tease
As I follow the calming breeze
Away

Bewilderment
All I ever wanted was to feel you inside of me
In the nooks and crannies of my mind,
The voided blackness of my heart.
But I'm left with a vague sense of bewilderment.
